"When was the last time you went to an open-air, farmers' or crafts market? Did you notice something about the people who seemed to have the most customers swarming around their stand and selling the most goods? Was there a lot of buzz in the air? Probably it was the drone of asking—sellers questioning customers about their needs.
There is definitely a buzz around the markets in Ghana, and it comes from the "Market Queens," the name given to the women who run most of produce markets there (O'Neill, 2016).

          Queens Start Small
Despite the grand name, a Market Queen has humble beginnings: like the produce cultivated by farmers, the skills of communication and asking are nurtured within the family, with girls learning from their mothers and grandmothers how to forage for information to understand their future customers."
