Chapter 12 The Affordable Loss Principle: Invest Little, Learn a Lot (pp. 192-206)

"Greta Thunberg, the Swedish environmental activist, has become a symbol of youth advocacy for climate change, building awareness of the fact that we cannot afford to lose our planet.

Skipping School
Greta's activism began with her protest outside the Swedish Parliament in August 2018. Her parents' support of her skipping school made it affordable loss for her to start on this journey which became known as "Fridays for the Future."
Living with Asperger's syndrome, OCD, and selective mutism would hardly count as assets useful to her endeavor. Yet, her family's support and understanding allowed Greta to travel extensively for her cause, impacting their daily lives."
